The owner of Pyramid Suites Hotel Banjarmasin Herris Salim provided as many as 500 personal protective equipments (PPE)as assistance for five COVID-19 referral hospitals in South Kalimantan.
The assistance was handed over symbolically to Head of Logistics of the South Kalimantan Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Hasan Baseri at the lobby of the hotel, Monday (April 13, 2020).
"For the South Kalimantan COVID-19 Task Force, we submit 200 PPE to be distributed to districts. The rest we hand over directly to a number of referral hospitals in the city of Banjarmasin," said Herris.
He admitted, the limitation of PPE in the form of hazmat suit, which is the standard of handling coronavirus patient become a common concern at this time. He was then moved to help. Thank to an acquaintance he knows who produces PPE, Herris took the initiative to order to be distributed.
"Even the funny thing is, the PPE I ordered was once offered by people to be bought at many folds price. I said this is not for sale, but for contribution," he told.

His commitment to helping provide PPE for medical personnel was a form of enthusiasm in an effort to tackle the coronavirus outbreak, so it will be resolved immediately.
"See the medical personnel who are at the frontline in dealing with COVID-19 positive patients. Without the support of standard PPE, their lives are also threatened," he pointed out.
Herris invited all entrepreneurs to help in order to ease the burden of the government in providing PPE in hospitals, which needs are increasingly increasing.
"Now I am looking for N95 mask that is needed by the medical staff. Hopefully, it can be obtained in large quantities in order to help again," he said.

Meanwhile, Hasan Baseri from the South Kalimantan's COVID-19 Prevention, control, and Handling Task Force, expressed gratitude for the concern of the business world in the effort to deal with coronavirus patients.
"Hopefully what Herris has done will arouse our enthusiasm to do something for our country in fighting the coronavirus outbreak. The government cannot work alone, it needs support from all levels of society, such as business people who, God Willing, have more fortune to be able to help," he said.
