Indocement provides food supplement to help eliminate stunting.

Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The management of  PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk held a child nutrition program by providing food supplement for thousands of elementay school students to help government to eliminate stunting.


The Indocement's  Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Section Head Nor Imansyah said on Friday,  the company not only providing food supplement. It also gives a heathier life coaching, such as how to brush teeth. The activities last for nine days in several schools in three sub-district in Kotabaru.

He said this program is an anuual work program of the company to keep caring for education and health of elementary school students.

"The target is to habituate a healthy lifestyle, fulfill adequate nutrition, until there is no more stunting, especially in the company's guided areas. That is in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG's) in points 3 and 4, namely a healthy and prosperous life, and quality education," he said.

Imansyah hopes those who have participated in the activities to apply it in their daily lives and to socialize to other family members at homes so they are aware more of the importance of maintaining health and living a healthy lifestyle.

Serongga Nursing Community Health Center (Puskesmas) Officer Ike Milatun Asfa said the activity was very good, because it teaches elementary school students to brush their teeth properly, and routinely for oral, dental and gum health, and to meet their body's nutritional needs.

This help the puskemas in an effort to run a public health program, especially in schools until they realize and be aware of clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS) in the school environment.

Principal of state elementary school SDN 2 Tegalrejo, Carkubi, said the activities initiated by Indocement were very useful especially for children
to be able to make a healthy lifestyle.
