Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Council for Indonesian National Handicrafts (Dekranasda) present at the 2019 Banjarmasin Sasirangan Festival (BSF) in Banjarmasin to show its own specific sasirangan.
"By participating in the BSF, we can show that Kotabaru also has its own superior products from sasirangan fabrics," said Chairwoman of Dekranasda Kotabaru Fatma Idiana Sayed Jafar.
Kotabaru opened a booth featuring various sasirangan products in BSF activities which were centered in the Menara Pandang (View Tower) tourist area for 7-9 March.
The production of craftsmen from Bumi Saijaan (Kotabaru) has its own characteristics in its motifs that elevate regional elements, one of which is swordfish motifs.
"The original sasirangan production from Kotabaru must be able to compete with other products both in color, motif and quality," said Idiana.
The Dekranasda Kotabaru booth also featured a variety of other regional special products such as amplang (a traditional savory fish cracker snack), fish crackers, processed tempe, shredded sea fish, and processed mandai (cempedak skin).
