Regent declares HSS free of plastic bags

Kandangan, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent H Achmad Fikry declares South Hulu Sungai (HSS) free from the use of plastic bags in the National Waste Care Day (HPSN) ceremony in the Lambung Mangkurat field Kandangan.


He said it was realized that the HSS without a plastic bag was very difficult, but it had to be started from now, because plastic waste is very difficult to destroy.
 
"The HPSN this time is the momentum for all of us to start gradually not to use plastic as any media," he said.

He explained, plastic bags can be replaced with traditional purun baskets, or look for other solutions, starting from each government agency.

The regent hopes that all support for the HSS free of plastic bags movement. He expects each agency to be creative to use other media that are environmentally friendly.

The Regent also invited all levels of society to make HSS a green and healthy district.

Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad, DPRD Speaker H. Akhmad Fahmi, Prosecutors Office Head Sugeng Riadi along with the Local Leaders Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), heads of agencies, and various community organizations in the district.
