Tanjung, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Tabalong District Forest Management Unit (KPH) prepares land for the construction of permanent nurseries to support the green revolution in the region.
According to KPH Tabalong Head Heryadi, he has prepared a one-hectare plot of land in Kasiau Village, Murung Pudak Subdistrict, for nursery purposes.
"Gradually we are preparing land for the construction of permanent nurseries," explained Heryadi.
This is in accordance with the instructions of the Head of the South Kalimantan Forestry Agency Hanif Faisol Nurofiq that each KPH can have a permanent nursery to meet the needs of the seedlings.
Heryadi conveyed that this year the South Kalimantan Provincial Budget (APBD) allocated Rp102 million for the construction of nurseries.
Furthermore, the Tabalong KPH will collaborate with third parties to procure reforestation and fruit seeds for the expansion of the nursery.
The plan is for the nursery to develop forestry plants such as Sengon, Jabon and Mahogany and other types of fruits.
"The nursery capacity will be around 700 thousand seeds per hectare," explained Heryadi.
