Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Batulicin Class II Immigration Office, Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan deported seven foreign workers working in Kotabaru District throughout 2018.
"They work not according to immigration rules," said the head of the immigration office Glora Nusa in a coordination meeting of Foreigner Oversight Team (Timpora) and information sharing regarding the presence and activities of foreign workers in Kotabaru, Thursday.
The Foreigner Oversight Team knew the existence of illegal foreign workers from the public information. They were employed by three different companies engaged in the mining and plantation sectors. The seven workers were mostly Chinese.
"It will be seen how far the violations. If it was not too heavy enough with guidance," he said.
The Immigration Office noted there are currently four companies in Kotabaru and Tanah Bumbu actively reporting on the presence of foreign workers. The total number of foreign workers reported was only around 70 people.
"Those who are reported, maybe there are still many who have not been reported," Glora added.
The extent of the work area covering the two districts has been an obstacle for the Class II Batulicin Immigration Office to maximize the supervisory function.
