Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Kotabaru's legislators have confirmed and proposed that the central government make the Kotabaru-Batulicin bridge project be included in the 2019 National Budget program.
"We, the chairman of the council, have the task of conducting a consultation meeting with the central government through Bappenas (the National Development Planning Board) regarding the delivery of a number of development programs in Kotabaru," Arif said on Friday on the sideline of the visit.
One of the important points they presented was confirmation as well as proposing the continuation of the mega project development process which is estimated to cost Rp3.5 trillion.
According to Arif, Pulau Laut Bridge is very vital and urgent for improving the regional economy, especially in relation to realizing Kotabaru's entry into a Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
He admitted that he had been informed several times of the delay of the bridge project, but in connection with realizing the government's SEZ program in Kotabaru, there is no other word, the 6.5-kilometer-long bridge construction project had to be carried on to completion.
Because continued Arif, this is one of the conditions for connecting Kotabaru, especially Pulau Laut, to other regions.
