Banjarmasin, (Antaranews) - Ambassadors from 40 countries enjoyed the beauty and uniqueness of Banjarmasin's life, culture, and tourism during a working visit to commemorate the 38th World Food Day (HPS) in South Kalimantan.
Governor Sahbirin Noor when opening the Banjar Culture and Tourism Festival to welcome the HPS in Banjarmasin Wednesday said it also a momentum for the rise of tourism in South Kalimantan.
According to him, the presence of guests from various countries is expected to be able to increase tourist visits both nationally and internationally.
"We offer a variety of food and culture so that the ambassadors can be impressed, they can convey interesting stories to the world," he said.
The Governor hopes the presence of thousands of guests, both national and international, will have an impact on the increase of the tourism industry and the MSME of South Kalimantan.
At the festival, the government displayed a variety of regional specialties enjoyed by guests. The committee also serves coffee from various regions in Indonesia.
In addition, to entertain the guests, before the opening of the event, a parade of ornamental jukung (traditional boat) presented. Jukung formed various formations. The attraction was able to amaze the invitees, including the ambassadors and their families.
Head of the Tourism and Culture Agency Dahnial Kifli said, previously guests from various countries were taken to see the various cultural potentials of the area to the Ano house which is a typical Banjar cultural home and to several other tourism potentials.
According to Kifli, the arrival of the guests is one of the momenta to welcome South Kalimantan tourism visit in 2020.
