Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Head of SAR Banjarmasin Mujiono confirmed 229 passengers of KM Satya Kencana IX which was burned in 54 miles southwest of Tanjung Selatan on Saturday (4/8) have successfully been evacuated.
"112 people were in the Niki Sae ship, 21 in KM Kumala and the rest were evacuated to the closest ships at the location," he explained.
Mujiono admitted, from the initial data received there were 250 passengers of KM Satya Kencana IX. But the exact amount is still coordinated with PT Dharma Lautan Utama as the ship owner.
"If it turns out there are only 229 people, it means all passengers have been evacuated safely, including 29 crew and skipper Sucipto. Only one person died due to exhaustion," he explained.
Matching passenger data is also still waiting for all family members to gather. Because there is a separate child and parents when the evacuation process was carried out.
"Our focus is still combing around the burning ship to ensure there are no more passengers, including the victims who flung into the sea during the incident," Mujiono said.
The process of searching for victims, said Mujiono, will take place over 7 days in accordance with Law No. 29/2014 concerning Search and Relief.
"The joint Sar team from Basarnas (the National Search and Rescue Agency), Ditpolairud of South Kalimantan Regional Police, Banjarmasin Naval Base, Disaster Response Team (Tagana), SROP Banjarmasin and KSOP Banjarmasin made maximum efforts in the evacuation process. Basarnas itself mobilized KN Laksmana with 20 personnel," he said.
While the survivors were taken to Banjarmasin Trisakti Harbor on Saturday night to get treatment to various hospitals if anyone needed further treatment.
