Marabahan, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Army Deputy Chief of Staff (Wakasad) Lieutenant General Tatang Sulaiman said three TNI-AD (Army) programs in support of the agriculture sector are sleep-land clearance program, special operations program (upsus), and unhusked rice absorbtion.
"Opsus program is adding planting area so that rice field can be more extensive, including repeated cultivation in order to increase production," said Lieutenant General Tatang Sulaiman in Marabahan, Barito Kuala, South Kalimantan, Friday (29/6).
In addition, he continued, is to absorb agricultural products, among others through the program of Sergap (absobing farmer'a unhusked rice) that continue to be done by TNI.
With regard to TNI support for the land optimization program in Jejangkit Muara Village, according to Tatang Sulaiman, the strategy is concentrating of strength by mobilizing heavy equipments to make dike, waterways, and making of land to be rice fields.
Wakasad stated that TNI will move quickly, considering that TNI is accustomed to work in abnormal situation and he is optimistic that the program can be done.
He emphasized that the important thing is the desire, there is responsibility, good cooperation and all work sincerely, that's the key.
Separately, South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor stated his optimism toward the Integrated Agriculture Pilot in Jejangkit Muara Village as long as it is done seriously and done together.
"Our responsibility will be to move all-out. I say there is no big job in the world that can not be solved as long as we want to cooperate, shoulder to shoulder, same weight be carried the same light," he said.
