The carbide cannon war was conducted all night long from 20:00 pm until the next morning at 08.00 am with the sound of cannon reaching 50 kilometers.
According to the Village Head Hasani, the entrance fee is Rp 10 thousand per person, two-wheeled parking Rp5 thousand, and four-wheeled parking Rp10 thousand.
While the carbide provided for hundreds of cannons made from aren or enau (sugar palm) tree trunks as much as 1.4 tons.
According to him, carbide cannon war is also an effort to preserve the culture and become an attraction on the night of Lebaran held independently by the local community.
The cannon previously perforated and strongly tied using straps and bamboo before using. The length of various cannons ranging from 10 meters to 15 meters with a diameter of 30 to 50 centimeters.
The cost of making a cannon also varies from Rp500 thousand to Rp2 million depending on the size, which is usually made by people in mutual assistance or urunan of some villages nearby in Pandawan sub-district, such as Rasau, Palajau, Mahang, Pandawan, Banua Asam, Palas, and Buluan.
"Before the cannon war, the people around such as the elderly, children, babies, and people who have the disease have been evacuated," he said.
This is done so that no unwanted things happen because the sound is very loud in a radius of tens of kilometers. In fact, when a cannon is fired, the ground within a few meters radius around it vibrates.
"If there is danger or damage from the cannon, the committee will compensate, for example animals die or houses glass broken," he said.
