Banjarmasin, (Antaranews South Kalimantan) - After the bomb explosion incident in Surabaya, carried out by alleged terrorist group, South Kalimantan Police impose the status of Alert 1.
"Police chief has instructed all ranks to tighten security related to this alert status," said Head of Public Relations of South Kalimantan Police AKBP Mochamad Rifai in Banjarmasin on Sunday.
He revealed, on the orders of Police Chief Brig. Gen. Rachmat Mulyana, the tightening of security systems such as for places of worship, community centers, to South Kalimantan Police headquarters (Mako Polda) and sector police (polres).
"Including precinct (polsek) and police stations are also instructed to be added to security with armed members on alert," he explained.
According to Rifai, the upgrading of the vigilance status is to maintain a conducive security situation.
"This status continues to prevail until further notice where an alert indicates the situation is entering the vulnerable stage and all ranks are allowed to carry weapons to take care of themselves while protecting the public," he explained.
As is known, the explosion of bombs in three churches in Surabaya on Sunday killed 10 people and caused dozens more injured.
