Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Mother of Early Childhood Education (Bunda PAUD) of Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan, Hj Neli Listriani, stated that the city government is empowering the strategic role of PAUD teachers to lower stunting from upstream.

During the event to strengthening stunting management for PAUD teachers in Banjarmasin, Tuesday, she emphasized that early childhood educators are keys to developing healthy generation and improving the quality of education from the start.

"PAUD teachers not only teach, but at the front of stunting handling through nutrition education, parenting practice, and early childhood growth and development monitoring," she said.

She reminded that stunting problems in the city cannot be postponed while the rate remains at 26.5 percent, as it directly impacts the quality of future human resouces. 

At the event that combined with National Education Day commemoration, she said, physically and mentally healthy children are better prepared to learn and develop optimally. 

"If stunting is handled starting at PAUD, we are paving the way for quality education and stronger future for the city," she said.

Neli stated that the government is encouraging collaboration between educators, parents, and stakeholders to ensure more targeted stunting interventions. 

“We want Banjarmasin to be the city that truly cares about child growth,  stunting-free, and excel in education from early age," she said.
