Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The National Alms Agency (Baznas) of Banjarmasin again assist pregnant women to prevent them from giving birth to stunted children.
Head of the agency of the city Riduan Masykur at the launch of program here on Wednesday said 50 pregnant women will be assisted this year.
He said the program has been running for seven years with the aim to prevent stunting, so that children are born healthy and their mothers are also healthy as expected.
During the support, pregnant women are not only provided with nutritious food but also regular health check-up until delivery.

"Of course the recipient of this program are pregnant women from low-income families," he pointed out.
Deputy Chair 2 for Distribution and Utilization of the agency Nortajidi said that data on pregnant women eligible for the 2026 Baznas program came from puskesmas (community health centers), from the community, followed by a field survey by Baznas staff.
"It's absolutely certain they are eligible and teh recipients are those around three three months pregnant," he said.
Symbolically aid was given at the today's launch: packages containing chicken, fish, fruit, vegetables, eggs and green beans.
Baznas program truly shows its care, in addition to food package, pregnant women are also provided with some allowance: transportation, maternity and tasmiyah (naming ceremony).
