Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru district government through Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade Office (Diskoperindag) held Ramadhan UMKM Saijaan Fest to promote local products and strengthens the community's economy.
Head of the office (Diskoperindag) Risa Ahyani said this year's Ramadhan UMKM Saijaan Fest was participated by 137 micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM or MSMEs) presenting a variety of Ramadan culinary specialties and superior local products.
“This Ramadhan UMKM Saijaan Fest serves as a promotional platform for local MSMEs and encourages economic growth in the community. Cross-sector support is also very helpful to ensure the smooth running of the event,” she said a reported on Monday.
According to her, the fair becomes a strategic opportunity for local MSMEs to expand their market and increase competitiveness of their products.

She also appreciated the support of various parties, including banks and sponsors, for the success of the event.
The police, the Transportation Office, the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the Health Agency, and even the sub-district and village governments are also involved to ensure security, order, and cleanliness during the event.
The committee also prepared a door prize draw program to attract visitors. Every purchase worth Rp 20,000 is eligible for a raffle coupon. Coupons are drawn weekly until the end of Ramadan.
The handover of land certificates (SHAT) across MSME sectors also highlighted the opening ceremony. It was the result of a collaboration with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency.

The certificates were symbolically handed over to the recipients by the Deputy Regent and representatives from the National Land Agency.
Kotabaru Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis said Ramadhan UMKM Saijaan Fest is a form of the local government's commitment to providing marketing space for MSMEs while maintaining economic stability during Ramadan.
In addition to Ramadhan fair, he said, the local government is also implementing a low-cost market program as a measure to control the prices of basic necessities before and during the holy month.
