Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Chairwoman of the Kotabaru Civil Servants' Wives Association (DWP) Risna S Pane Eka Saprudin led her entourage on a visit and held a regular meeting in Pulau Sembilan Sub-district, a remote island directly bordering East Java.
Risna S Pane expressed her appreciation for the enthusiasm and solidarity of Pulau Sembilan DWP women that remain active and unite, despite being in remote island.
“The board of Pulau Sembilan DWP has provided us excellent space and service for this routine meeting,” she said here as reported on Friday.
She poined out that this routine meeting was crucial not only as a gathering to strengthen togetherness, increasing capacity, but also to strengthening DWP role in supporting community welfare and families of civil servants (ASN).

“As a women's organization, we hope to be a strategic partner for the government, as well as driving force in improving the quality of human resources, especially women,” she explained.
The meeting was also expected to foster active interaction between sub-district DWP and the district DWP.
Head of Pulau Sembilan Sub-district Hamdi said that the presence of DWP chairperson in the island was historic, and he expressed his pride.

"I consider her presence is a history for us, who live far away in the islands region, and we are proud, even though I previously informed that this is the wave season, the west season," he explained.
Kotabaru DWP chairwoman's visit was also a tangible government's attention to the remote Pulau Sembilan Sub-district.
On the occasion, Chairperson of Kotabaru DWP presented donations to orphans and underprivileged children from kindergarten, elementary, and junior high schools.
