Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The National Logistics Agency (Bulog) for Kotabaru and Tanah Bumbu regions together with the Kotabaru Naval Base (Lanal) carried out various social and maritime activities to alleviate poverty in the local area.
"Together with the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), we distribute 1,440 kg of rice and 288 liters of cooking oil to 72 beneficiaries, each receive 20 kg rice and 4 liters cooking oil," said Head of the Bulog Kotabaru-Tanah Bumbu Branch Office (KCP) Moch Faizal in Batulicin, Monday.
The distribution of basic food, he said, was an effort to alleviate poverty and part of a series of events commemorating the anniversary of the Navy Fleet at the Batulicin Naval Post of the Kotabaru Naval Base.

The Kotabaru Naval Base Commander (Danlanal) Navy Colonel (P) M Harun Al Rasyid said that the ativity was previously held in Kotabaru District, and this time it was held in Batulicin, Tanah Bumbu District.
Not only social assistance (bansos), he said, blood donation drives were also conducted to increase blood stock in Tanah Bumbu.
"Bulog distributes one hundred of basic food packages and hundreds of 10 kg sacks of rice to underprivilaged local residents, as well as providing compassion to orphans. We hand over the aid directly to the beneficiaries," said Harun.
Meanwhile, A Young Expert Social Counselor at the Tanah Bumbu Social Affairs Office, Yus Arduan Pramujo, said the synergy between the local government hopefully continue to be strong and in the future they could help even more people.
“Perhaps in the future, if there are social activities, we can continue to collaborate," he said.
