Barabai, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Regent of Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) Samsul Rizal received an award from Google Indonesia for HST's junior high school SMPN 1 becomes the first Google for Education reference school in South Kalimantan Province.
"SMPN 1 HST is officially becoming the first Google reference school in South Kalimantan and the third in Indonesia," said Regent Samsul Rizal when confirmed from Barabai, capital of HST, Saturday.
The Regent, who visited Google Indonesia office in Jakarta, said the local government continues to be committed to digitally transforming learning in the district.

Google gave its recognition for the local government's success in integrating Google for Education technology in an innovative and sustainable manner.
"This has enabled us to create a collaborative and inclusive learning that has positive impact on students, teachers, and education community in HST," he explained.
The Regent expressed his gratitude for the recognition and award from Google Indonesia.
He believes that through various programs supported by Google, educational technology will foster the creation of inspiring learning system.
"Hopefully this collaboration and synergy to continue to develop to improve the quality of education in Bumi Murakata (HST) better," he hoped.

Head of HST Education Office Muhammad Anhar said that SMPN 1 HST is the first public school in South Kalimantan to be a Google reference.
This proves, he said, that the entire learning ecosystem does not only use digital devices.
"But also competent teacher resources. 96 percent of teachers at SMPN 1 HST have already Google for Educator license, from level 1 to trainer," he expounded.
This is a fact, he pointed out, that they are teachers who have internationally certified in implementing educational transformation.
