Batulicin (ANTARA) - The Regent of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan Province, Andi Rudi Latif said that in the first year of leadership, poverty rate dropped by 3.13 percent compared to the previous year.
"It indicates positive achievements in various sectors of the regional development, reflected in the increase in the Human Development Index (HDI/IPM), reduction in poverty rates, and continued acceleration of economic growth," said the Regent here on Saturday.
The latest data shows that Tanah Bumbu's HDI is considered high in South Kalimantan Province. In 2024, it was recorded at 74.5 and increased to 75.09 in 2025. This placed Tanah Bumbu in the second-highest among districts and fourth place in South Kalimantan.
The increase in HDI was influenced by some indicators that showed positive developments. Life expectancy has reached 74.68 years, while expected years of schooling was 12.80 years and the average years of schooling was 8,44 years.
"In addition, real expenditure per capita was recorded at Rp13.38 million per year," he said.

In the economic sector, positive developments evident in poverty alleviation. By 2025, poverty rate in Tanah Bumbu have been reduced to 3.13 percent. The number of poor people downed from 14,677 in 2024 to 13,812 in 2025.
At the same time, the regional economic growth showing an upswing trend. In 2025, the economy grew by 4.82 percent, then increased to 5.52 percent in 2026. This condition demonstrates that the development policies implemented by the district government are aligned with the needs of the community.
Andi Rudi Latif pointed out that this achievement was the result of collaborative works between the local government and the community. He believes a strong synergy is a key to driving regional progress.
"This improvement is inseparable from the hard work of the Tanah Bumbu District Government with full support of the Bumi Bersujud community. Strong synergy is they key to realizing a developed, prosperous and civilized Tanah Bumbu," said Regent Andi Rudi Latif.
