Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The Banjarmasin Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) urges residents of the city to be vigilant against sea water tide or rob, esecially on the riverbank areas.
Head of the Agency Husni Thamrin here on Sunday informed the potential for rob to occur from March 9 to 12, 2025.
"Flooding in this phase is predicted to occur every afternoon, between 16.00 and 20.00 Wita with a water height reaching 2.7 meters above sea level (mdpl)," he said.
Residential areas on the banks of the river, especially Martapura River, which flows directly into the estuary of Barito River at the sea mouth, have quite significant potential for rob.

As monitoring carried out by the agency in the areas of Jalan Brigjen Hasan Basri, Alalak Utara, North Banjarmasin, river water was seen overflowing to the streeats.
The sea tidal was also began to be seen in Banua Anyar areas, East Banjarmasin Sub-district.
"However, the height of water inundation is still between ankles," said Thamrin.
He said the potential for rob flooding must also be watched out on March 23-25, 2025, between 16.00 and 18.00 Wita with a water level reaching 2.6 mdpl.
"We are very vigilant when the height of tidal water concides with heavy rain, then the flooding can be worse," he said.
He hopes residents to immediately move valuables to higher place from flooding. Electronic equipment needs to be secured to avoid the risk of short circuit.
"We hope people are more vigilants and maintain safety. Prioritize evacuation of important items to higher location," he said.
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather during March 5-11, 2025 to be dominated by light to heavy rain. Based on this weather outlook, Banjarmasin BPBD urged people to be aware of potential rob flooding.
