Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Environment office's Regional Technical service Unit (UPTD) of Environmental Laboratory held in-house training on Understanding and Documentation System of SNI ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
It was held in preparation for submitting laboratory accreditation to meet international quality standard in environmental testing.
Head of the Environment office M Maulidiansyah said this training is an important step in improving professionalm and lab readiness in accreditation process.
"The environmental lab is established not merely to pursue the local revenue (PAD) target, we are committed to implementing quality management system that complies with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards," he said in Kotabaru, Thursday.

With the training, it is hoped that all personnel increasingly understand the standards so that the lab can be accredited and provides credible and accountable test results.
The training presented a speaker from South Sumatra Laboratory KA Syukron Lillah. The South Sumatra lab is the first regional government owned lab in Indonesia to obtain accreditation from the National Accreditation Committee (KAN).
Syukron gave a comprehensive presentation on the principles of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, including structural requirements, management, resources, as well as technical aspects in lab testing.
The documentation system was also presented which is a crucial part of maintaining traceability and validity of test results, especially in the process towards accreditation.
The five day activities filled with various training sessions, including theoritical presentation, interactive discussion, and simulations of preparing laboratory documents.
