Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Tourism, Youth and Sport Office of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, has scheduled an automotive sport event name Hayau Barait Adventure Offroad 4x4.
Kotabaru Regent H Sayed Jafar said the four-wheel drive offroad racing is the first to be held in the district and it is in the series the district's 74th anniversary celebration.
"Hayau Barait Offroad 4WD is one of efforts to support government's program in sports and introduce tourist and culture areas, especially Kotabaru," said Sayed Jafar in a press release reported on Monday.
In addition to building relationship, it is hoped to make people closer and increase love for nature, and pay more attention to sustainability as well as automotive world.
Here offroaders will be brought to explore various natural obstacles, such as rivers, steep inclines, slippery rocks, and thick mud, of course this will test the offroaders skill, ability and toughness.

The event, with a theme Saijaan Jeep Adventure, is planned to be held on August 23-25 consisting of 2 categories Adventure Extreme and Adventure Fun.
The start takes place at Siring Laut Kotabaru attraction and to be finished at SJA TBK Gedambaan Beach circuit.
The 1004/Kotabaru District Military Commander Lt. Col. Inf. Deden Ika Drajat, as chair of the Organizing Committee, said dozens of offroaders have wanted to join this inaugural event.
"With hundreds of millions in prizes and lots of door prizes, we are very optimistic the Hayau Barait Offroad 4x4 will be a spectacular event, especially with the support of the Regent of Kotabaru this event is free of registration fees," he said.
