Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Kotabaru Deputy Regent H Syairi Mukhlis attended the DPRD plenary session to submit recommendations for the Regent's Accountability Report (LKPj) for 2025.
Syairi Mukhlis, who read the Regent's remarks, stated that the discussion of LKPj between the Legislative Council and the executive manifested the DPRD's commitment as people representatives.
"It also reflects complementary check and balance between the regent as the regional leader and DPRD as representative of the community," he remarked in Kotabaru, Thursday.
He pointed out that the council's recommendations will be studied and used as reference in preparing plan for the current and following years, as well as formulating strategic policies for regional head.

It is hoped that the LKPj, that was jointly agreed upon, can become a guide for the future development of Kotabaru.
The local government hopes that the coordination and synergy established with stakeholders will continue to be maintained to realize the vision of Kotabaru Hebat (which stands for harmonious, energetic, united, trustworthy and resilient) .
Deputy Speaker of DPRD Awaludin said that LKPj serves as benchmark for the achievement of the Kotabaru Regent's progams in regional governance, established under Law No.27 of 1959.
The DPRD's decision on the LKPj is a recommendation, not a final decision. It is an oversight function that the Regent must follow up as a basis for improving future governance.

Even though it has no political or legal implications, the recommendations serve as a moral correction for the regional head.
If it is not followed up, it will impact accountability and public trust.
The plenary session was chaired by DPRD Speaker Hj Suwanti and attended by Assistant I for Government and People's Welfare H Minggu Basuki, the district's Leaders Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and heads of regional government agencies (SKPDs).
