Pelaihari (ANTARA) - The district government of Tanah Laut (Tala) and Kotabaru in South Kalimantan have reached agreement to strengthen food distribution to maintain supply stability while encouraging regional economic growth based on strategic sectors.
This inter-regional synergy is aimed at smoothing the flow of basic commodities, curbing price disparities, and to open up business opportunities in food sector and its derivatives.
Abdillah, Tala Assistant for Government, Legal and Politics, here on Wednesday said the inter-regional collaboration is a concrete step towards strengthening food supply chain, which has a direct impact on the community's economy.
“This collaboration is expected to strengthen food distribution facilities and ensure sustainable availability of basic foods,” he said.
Strengthening food distribution not only to maintain price stability, but also to encourage more efficient and integrated cross-regional economic activities.
Connecting inter-regional food sector, he said, is a national strategic issue, particularly in facing inflation challanges and regional-based economic resilience.
“This synergy also serves as a means of exchanging information and inter-regional business potential for further development,” he said.
In addition, he said, this cooperation opens up opportunities for local business to expand their market, especially for high value superior commodities in their respective regions.
