Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has awarded the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPIDs) Award 2024 to the Provincial Government of South Kalimantan for its success in controlling inflation in 2023.
President Jokowi handed over the award at the National Coordination Meeting on Inflation Control at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday.
“Every time I come to region, the main thing I ask is about inflation and how the economy is growing in the region,” said Jokowi through the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube received here on Friday.
Currently, he said, inflation is under control at 2.84 percent, very different from 10 years ago at 9.6 percent.
“But you should be wary, the United Nations secretary-general says that the world is on the 'highway to climate hell'. The temperature of the planet's surface is forecast to hit its highest record in the next five years" he told regional leaders.

The President instructed all stakeholders to eventually take anticipatory measures against various impact of climate change.
Meanwhwile, South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor said that the TPID Award 2024 received was the result of hard work and collaboration between the government and stakeholders in curbing inflation.
“All parties were involved working together to control inflation. We would like to thank President Jokowi for this TPID Award 2024,” said Sahbirin.
South Kalimantan was the province with the best performance in controlling inflation at the regional level in Kalimantan. The same award was received by central Java for the Java-Bali region, Southeast Sulawesi for Sulawesi region, Riau Islands for Sumatra region, and West Nusa Tenggara for Nusa Tenggara-Papua region.
