Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) and 13 universities in Malaysia have agreed to work together to enhance the quality of education in Southeast Asia or ASEAN through student and lecturer exchange and opening joint classes in certain study programs.
"So, this colaboration is not limited only in Indonesia and Malaysia but the spirirt can be broader for the advancement of education in ASEAN countries," said ULM Deputy Rector I for Academic Affairs Iwan Aflanie in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Monday, May 13, 2024.

He said that his side has designed a kind of joint education for Malaysian and Indonesian students. It was considering a very good relation between ULM and 13 Malaysia's outstanding campuses.
"We will discuss the technical aspects later, anyway there should be a breakthrough in this collaboration so it has more impact," he expounded representing ULM Chancellor Professor Ahmad Alim Bachri.
The signing of Memorandum of Understanding was held durng the visit of Malaysian Embassy's Education Attache to the ULM Rectorate in Banjarmasin on Monday.
Malaysian Education Attache to Indonesia Zulfadhli said that ULM is the best university in Kalimantan so it is the right choice for 13 universities in Malaysia to cooperate.
"We share the same spirit of living in the land of Borneo, so Malaysia and Indonesia, represented by ULM, have a similar commitment to wanting education in this region to be more advanced in the era of globalization which is full of challanges," he said.
