Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - Chancellor of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Professor Ahmad Alim Bachri initiated collaboration between Eastern Indonesia State Universities (PTN-KTI) and Borneo Universities Consortium (KUUB).
"This collaboration is important for the development of universities in strengthening regional and international network cooperation," said Professor Ahmad Alim Bachri in Banjarmasin, Friday.
Alim as Chairman of the Consortium Of Eastern Indonesia State Universities (Ceisu or PTN-KTI) said it is time to make the education in eastern Indonesia to be more advanced to align itself with the western region.
The collaboration between PTN-KTI and KUUB becomes a strategic step that will have a significant impact on the progress of education in eastern Indonesia.

Alim also mentioned the state capital city (IKN) Nusantara in East Kalimantan as a catalyst for the advancement of high education not only in Kalimantan but eastern Indonesia as a whole.
"We have to prepare scholars who can compete at national and international level, so that human resources for the national development would not only be supplied by universities from western region," he emphasized.
PTN-KTI consists of 46 universities and polytechnics that have the same commitment to advancing higher education in eastern Indonesia.
Meanwhile, KUUB consists of 16 universities, three in Brunei Darussalam, eight in Malaysia and five universities in Kalimantan Indonesia.
