Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Cases of violence against children in Kalimantan rose in 2016, Board of Family Planning and Women's Empowerment (BKBPMP) Banjarmasin official said.
According to the head of Banjarmasin BKBPMP Madyan, cases of violence against children were recorded 30 in his office so far this year. Earlier in 2015, it was about 20 cases.
"It was heartbreaking, especially the last case uncovered related to foster mother who tortured by sadistic her own foster child," he said in Banjarmasin, Saturday.
Madyan mentioned, case with physical abuse to the child did not dominate, but the impact was felt great to society.
"Cases of torture by foster mother to her adopted son who was eight years old in North Banjarmasin seized very public attention, all condemn it," said Madyan.
Because, said Madyan, the foster mother has now been arrested by the police. Surely all expects she will bejudged the fairest on her sadistic actions against the innocent boy.
"We were very upset over the incident, and sought psychological help to the child, and now enter our monitoring," he admitted.
According to him, this cruel incident should not happen again to the child, so that handling program needs to be improved, and community involvement is very important.
BKBPMP Banjarmasin, he said, so far continue to do the socialization and counseling about keeping children from these crimes, especially the many cases related to sexual harassment.
