Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Chairman of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, DPRD Syairi Mukhlis encouraged micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) or locallly known as UMKM in Kotabaru District to keep on making innovations.

Syairi said that the local government can be the booster of MSME actors to level up the quality of products they produce.

“We encourage our MSME products to develop and have competitiveness in the wider market,” said Syairi in Kotabaru, Sunday, after attenting tourism exhibition entitled "Wonderland Kotabaru" at Duta Mall, Banjarmasin.

To develop products they produce, he opined that micro, small, and medium business actors should be encouraged and need the regional government support to stimulate their enthusiasm.

The local government support could be by providing trainings for them to develop their products, increasing their quality, through new innovations.

With the support through various training, he said, it is hoped that MSME's productivity and products quality will be maintained, so they can survive and continue to develop.
