Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The district government of Kotabaru supports the movement of father drops child at school on first day of school initiated by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) and the Ministry of Population and Family Development/National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN).
It is also to support Gerakan Ayah Teladan Indonesia (GATI), or Indonesian Exemplary Fathers Movement.
A father in Kotabaru, Robi, who work at Bank BRI, took the advantage of the moment to accompany his child on the first day of school at Al-Izzah.
“Father's role in the family is not merely a breadwinner, but also a primary companion in child-rearing. This is also to support the Regent's call for GATI,” he said, Monday (July 14, 2025).

It demonstrated how Kotabaru followed up Circular Letters of Minister of of Primary and Secondary Education and Minister of Population and Family Development/Head of BKKBN.
In support of this policy, Kotabaru government granted government employees (ASN) permission to drop off their children on the first day of school for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Many civil servants were seen seeing off their children on the first day of school. Including the Regional Secretary of Kotabaru, Eka Saprudin, who took his time to drop his child off at school amidst his busy government duties.
It demonstrates concrete support for government's efforts to encourage father's active role in their children's education and development.
Some fathers did'nt miss the moment to document in photos or videos, and post these beautiful moment, which their children will cherish long into adulthood.
The government of Kotabaru also committed to support programs that strengthen family institution as a key pillar in developing superior and competitive human resources.
