Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) South Kalimantan now has 114 professors, further strengthening its position as the best campus in Kalimantan.
"Alhamdulillah (praize be to Allah), ULM's status as superior campus in Kalimantan is now unshakable with the increasing number of professors," said ULM Rector Prof Ahmad Alim Bachri here, Thursday, after inaugurating five more professors.
The Chancellor said that ULM's achievements over the last nine month had succeeded in adding 40 professors.
In fact, 23 lecturers are currently awaiting their inauguration after they received their decrees as professors from the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry.
He stated that the presence of professors is very important and strategic for the progress of a university.
"Professors provide guarantees that the three principles of higher education (Tridarma) activities will be of higher quality, including guarantees that 37 thousand ULM students will gain competitive learning," he expounded.
Alim targets to add at least three or four doctoral programs (S3) next year from now seven, namely PhD in Agriculture, Phd in Development Studies, PhD in Environmental Sciences, PhD in Medical Sciences, PhD in Law, PhD in Management, and PhD in Educational Administration.
The five professors who are inaugurated today by the Chancellor of ULM are Prof Sunarno Basuki, Prof Harapan Parlindungan Ringoringo, Prof Rabiatul Adawiah, Prof Ahmadi, and Prof Laila Refiana Said.
