Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - A number of villagers left their houses to flee to safer places after their houses were destroyed by a coal barge in Kaladan Village, Tapin District, South Kalimantan Province.
"(The victims) fled to their families' or neighbors' houses," said Kaladan Village Head Muhammad Faleh at the location, Sunday.
It was recorded that 35 houses were badly damaged on Saturday, April 22, 2023, luckily there is no casuality.
"On average, the houses were heavily damaged," he expounded.

Responding to the incident, he said, the company said ready to compasate for the losses suffered by the residents.
"The name of the barge is Rimau 3336 owned by Rimau Bahtera Shipping and MZB barge owned by BGM which is operated by PT Cakrawala Nusa Bahari," he said.
The victims, he said, are demanding that compansation payment to be realized as soon as possible.
"Hopely it can be realized as soon as possible," he said.
At the location, currently the company is doing recording the impact of the barge that hit the houses.
