"The need for electricity in South Kalimantan, especially in Tanah Laut, become a serious attention of local government," said Head of Economy Andris Evony in Pelaihari, Thursday.
Moreover, according to him, Tanah Laut has been designated as a national strategic area based on Presidential Decree No.2 / 2015 surely needs adequate electrical energy.
According to him, PT Pace Energy research on wind power energy in Tanah Laut to be lasted for one year. The research began in the third week of April 2016.
Separately, Regent Bambang Alam welcomed PT Pace Energy plans to invest in wind power energy in Tanah Laut.
Related with such investments, said the regent, it is committed to help smooth all the necessary permits, and maintaining a conducive climate for investors who invest in the area.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of PT Pace Energy Michael Vawser revealed, although only one week of research has done, but the results showed a very good trend.
In terms of the economic value of the investment, he explained, the development of wind power energy is very strategic value.
He explained a windmill turbine need N investment of 6 million US Dollars with the ability to produce 3 megawatts of energy.
According to him, if research by PT Pace Energy showed a very adequate it will build 10 turbines or windmills. Then the investment in Tanah Laut will be 60 million US dollars to generate 30 megawatts of electrical energy.
"Obviously this will greatly help meet the electricity energy need in South Kalimantan and surrounding areas," he said.
