Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Banjarmasin Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that 16 urban villages in the city were affected by rob flood due to the high tide of seawater from Sunday night to Monday predawn.
"The sea high tide began at 19.30 Wita (Central Indonesia Time) on Sunday but was then gradually receded at 00.50 WITA Monday predawn," said the head of the agency Fahruraji here on Monday.
According to him, the sea tide overflowed into Barito River and Martapura River and affected their tributaries and overflowed into residential areas near them.
"There are 16 urban villages that we monitored to be affected by rob flood," he said.
The lucky was, Fahruraji said, the high water gradually receded and cause inundation, not in a long time. However, some of the residents' houses on the river bank had been swamped.
"We still are collecting data on how many houses were inundated last night. It's not that bad, ankle-deep water enters the houses," he said.
At least 16 urban villages were affected by rob flood due to the La-Nina phenomenon, mostly in West Banjarmasin with 8 urban villages.
Among them were at Jalan Jafri Zam-zam, Belitung Selatan Urban Villages, about 30-40 cm, Jalan Pembangunan Ujung, Kuin Cerucuk Urban Villages, 30-40 cm, Jalan Kuin, Kuin Selatan Urban Villages, 30-40 cm.
Then at Jalan Simpang Anem, Belitung Utara Urban Villages, about 30-50 cm, Jalan Cendrawasih, Belitung Selatan Urban Villages, 30-40 cm, Jalan Sutoyo S Gg.20, Teluk Dalam Urban Villages, 30-40 cm.

In South Banjarmasin, Fahruraji said, including Jalan 9 Oktober, Pekauman Urban Villages, 30-40 cm, Jalan Kelayan B, Kelayan Timur Urban Villages, 20-30 cm, Jalan Keramat (Kubah Basirih), Basirih Urban Villages, 30-50 cm.
In Central Banjarmasin, including Jalan Rawasari, Citra Sari Housing Complex, Teluk Dalam Urban Villages, 30-40 cm, Jalan Antasan Kecil Barat (Kampung Arab), Pasar Lama Urban Villages, about 20-30 cm.
Meanwhile, in North Banjarmasin, including Jalan Pangeran, Pangeran Urban Villages, 30-40 cm, Jalan Sungai jingah, Sungai Jingah Urban Villages, 30-40 cm, and Jalan Sungai Miai, Sungai Miai Urban Villages, 30-50 cm.
"We asked peope on the outskirts to keep to be vigilant because the high tide has the potential to occur for several days," he said.
The agency assisted by volunteers continues to work on handling and preparing rescue equipment.
"Hopefully there won't be a major flood like (the one we experienced) the beginning of the year," he said.
