Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Tabalong is 56 years old and has achieved many successes. One of them is the predicate of the best in accelerating stunting reduction in South Kalimantan.
"We have succeeded in reducing stunting rate drastically in 2021," Tabalong Regent Anang Syakhfiani remarked when leading the ceremony for the commemoration of the 56th district anniversary, Wednesday (Dec 1, 2021).
Today, the Tabalong's prevalence of stunting is 8.90 percent or has decreased dramatically from the previous years.
Anang said that in 2018 stunting prevalence was quite high at 39 percent, then down to 17.65 percent in 2019, and in 2020 it fell again to 11.69 percent.
The success in reducing the stunting rate, Anang pointed out, cannot be separated from the support and togetherness of all parties.
The 56th anniversary of Tabalong took the theme "Healthy Society, Developing Economy, Leading Tabalong”, to express the district's readiness to rise after being faced with various dynamics that are quite complicated, in addition to the COVID–19 pandemic.
Including flood disasters and refocusing of the budget that has an impact on the implementation of development in the region.
"Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah) then thank to the solidity and togetherness between the line, all this dynamics can be passed well," said Anang.
