"When the sea wave height of about 1.5 to 2 meters hit bagans caused collapsed," said H Ranja, a bagan skipper in the village of Sarangtiung on Wednesday.

"High waves and strong winds hit Sarangtiung and surrounding waters," he said.

He explained that the fishermen catch fish by using bagan only at night, from 17:00 until 06:00.
With the collapse of the bagans, fishermen in Kotabaru suffered losses of tens to hundreds of millions rupiahs.
Musing bagan collapse occurred almost every year in Kotabaru, especially when wind southeast for fishermen in the north and west wind for the fishermen in the southern region.
