Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Tabalong Education Office issued a circular to temporarily suspend face-to-face learning for PAUD (early childhood education) to SMP (junior high school) following the increasing spread of COVID-19 in the district.
Head of the office Mahdi Noor said the temporary suspension of face-to-face learning was effective from July 26 to August 8, 2021. "It is temporarily postponed to anticipate the spread of coronavirus," he explained.
Learning activities are then carried out online, offline, or a combination of both.
In a circular No. B-303/DIK/UM-KEPEG/421/07/2021 teachers are also asked not to give too many assignments to students so as not to burden students and parents.
Including an appeal for teachers who are exposed to COVID-19 not to attend school.
Mahdi said the rule follows up the instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs No. 26 of 2021 regarding PPKM level 3, level 2, and level 1 as well as optimizing the COVID-19 handling post.
Meanwhile, the number of confirmed positive COVID-19 patients in Tabalong continued to increase reaching 874.
The number of patients recovered was 741, patients under treatment 117, and 16 people died.
