Kandangan, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - South Hulu Sungai (HSS) keep improving the readiness of its rowing athletes who will compete at the South Kalimantan Students Games (POPDA) in July 2021, with a target to win gold.
The coach Yantoni in Kandangan on Thursday (June 24, 2021) said the training is focused on physical strengthening and balance techniques.
"As well as training the endurance of athletes when rowing by increasing distance in training," he said on the sideline of the athletes training.
Last year, with improvised equipment, HSS rowing athletes won the silver medal. They are optimistic that this year they can win golds.

The HSS rowing team exercises four times a week, namely on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Before the POPDA program was launched by the Youth, Sports, and Tourism Agency in March 2021, the first prepared themselves from December 2020.
Five HSS rowing athletes will compete in Popda are Akhmad Gusnaidi in the 1000 meter men's single kayak, Riduan in1000 meter men's double canoe, Musthafa in 1000 meter men's single canoe, Ramadhan in 1000 meter men's double canoe, and Muhammad Ridani in 1000 meter men's single kayak.
