Amuntai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Regent H Abdul Wahid HK inaugurated the Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) Laboratory for COVID-19 patients at the General Hospital of Pambalah Batung Amuntai.
A member of House of Representative (DPR-RI) Bambang Hery Purnama who was present at the inauguration advised the HSU government to maximize this lab to break the chain of the COVID-19 outbreak.
"We know that HSU is a red zone in South Kalimantan. Hopefully, the PCR lab will overcome the spread of the (coronavirus) outbreak," said Bambang who is a member of Commission I DPR-RI from Golkar faction.
Bambang together with Regent H Abdul Wahid HK and several members of HSU DPRD visited the lab located at the former PMI building at the Pembalah Batung Hospital.
The regent explained that this PCR lab is the first provided in the Banua Enam area, which covers six districts in South Kalimantan (Tabalong, Tapin, Balangan, HST, HSS dan HSU).
"Of course, we hope that other regency to have the same facility in order to accelerate to stop the transmission of COVID-19 in South Kalimantan," said Wahid.
Meanwhile, Director of Pembalah Batung Hospital dr Yandi Friandi said will be ready in early October 2020. "This lab facility also serves personal swab test requirements," he said.
People, he said, can get the throat test for a personal need, but is charged a fee. The rate of charges is in accordance with the length of the service period. For example, a three days tariff is IDR1.3 million, IDR1.6 million for two days, and IDR2 million for one day.
