Kandangan, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The difficulty of the internet network, especially in the Meratus mountains area, has made the government of Madang Village, Padang Batung Sub-district, South Hulu Sungai (HSS), took the initiative to help students who must attend distance learning.
Head of the village Suriani said two posts were provided for children to learn online. According to him, only at these two points, the internet network is strong or smooth.
"Yes, it is precisely at the two points of the post that only have strong internet network," he said when met at his Madang Village office, Tuesday (August 4, 2020).
The two post points provided by the Madang Village government for distance learning are located in the neighborhood unit (RT) 03 and RT 04 in Tayub Hamlet.
"The online learning post at RT 04 was previously used for COVID-19 prevention post," Suriani said.
The online learning post has so far helped the students at the foot of the Meratus mountains, although they had to walk far enough to get to the place.
"Every morning from 08.00 to 14.00 Wita (Central Indonesia Time) many students from elementary, junior, high school, until university students study at the post," he said.
Abdul Ghanistiar, one of the students who used the facility said that online learning made him hard to understand the tasks given by the school.
"Usually only given the lesson, then the teacher gives exercise, without being explained in advance, so I don't understand the lesson," he said.
