Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Two coal mining companies, PT Bayan Resources Tbk and PT Wahana Baratama Mining, handed over various medical tools as assistance to the government of Tanah Laut District, Tuesday (July 21, 2020).
25 thousand disposable medical masks from PT Bayan Resources Tbk and another 75 thousand from PT Wahana Baratama Mining.
PT Bayan Resources Tbk also provided 75 hazmats suit-protective clothing and 125 from PT Wahana Baratama Mining. Then 200 hazmat suits - disposable protective clothing from PT Bayan Resources Tbk and 400 from PT Wahana Baratama Mining.
Head of the PT Wahana Baratama Mining Engineering Frans X Hernugroho said that the assistance was a form of concern of the company to medical workers who were struggling to carry out their profession to be protected from the exposure of the coronavirus.
"As we know, COVID-19 has claimed many lives, including health workers. We hope what we have provided will be very beneficial for health workers to break the pandemic that is still present in our midst," Frans added.
Separately, Regent of Tanah Laut H Sukamta expressed his gratitude and high appreciation for the assistance has been provided to the district government of Tanah Laut and said it was very valuable and useful for the medical personnel.
Sukamta hopes that the companies doing their business in Tanah Laut to participate in the effort to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission.
Meanwhile, on the same day, Regent H Sukamta received assistance from PT Gawi Makmur Kalimantan (GMK) for flood victims in the district in the form of instant noodle packages.
