The distribution of as many as 480 food packages at the Tanjung Seloka Village's Serbaguna Building was attended by members of the district legislative council (DPRD), heads of government agencies, Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), sub-district head, and the sub-district leadership communication forum (Forkopimda).
As chief of the Kotabaru Task Force for Acceleration Handling of COVID-19, H Sayed Jafar kept appealing to residents to always comply with the government calls to break the transmission of the coronavirus.
He reminded that the policy of new normal not to make us careless, but to continue to follow the health protocol, such as wearing a mask, keeping a distance, and washing hands.
"The point is we have to take care of ourselves and families with a healthy lifestyle by obeying the government regulation," he said.
The local government, he said, will continue to go down to the field to help and see the condition of citizens, because the impact of COVID-19 has now made the economy of all circles plummet.
"We always urge the public to comply with the health protocol, because Kotabaru's corona positive cases have just increased by 13," he said.
Meanwhile, Acting Head of Social Agency Nurviza added, the food assistance distributed was given flexibly according to data from the local village, and will be changed if not appropriate.
