Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - In only one day, COVID-19 case in South Kalimantan has increased by 109 to bring the total to 1.142 cases, 948 of them in hospitals or special quarantine, 101 recovered, and 93 died.
South Kalimantan government spokesperson for the Acceleration Handling and Control of COVID-19 Task Force HM Muslim here on Thursday said, the surge was resulted from epidemiology activity by the task force team to various regions.
The biggest surge in cases at this time came from tracing, which reached 101 cases, while the remaining eight cases came from Patient Under Surveillance (PDP) whose swab test results were positive.
"The total case to date is 1.142, as many as 743 cases came from tracing, the remaining from PDP who have been declared positive," he said.
The increase came from North Hulu Sungai (HSU) district with two cases, Tanah Bumbu one case, Banjarmasin City 103 cases, and Banjarbaru City three cases.
Previously President Joko Widodo called on Indonesian ministries and the Task Force for Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling to give specific attention to the spread of COVID-19 in East Java, South Sulawesi, and South Kalimantan.
"I want the Task Force, ministries, military force, and police force to concentrate on the three provinces, with high number of cases," the president stated whilst opening the virtual limited cabinet meeting from the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, Thursday.
The distribution of COVID-19 cases by region in South Kalimantan, namely Banjarmasin 580 cases from previously 476 cases. As many as 477 in treatment, 25 recovered, and 78 died.
Tanah Bumbu still has 134 cases, with details of 124 in treatment, eight recovered, and two died.
Tanah Laut 81 cases, 64 in treatment, 16 recovered, and one died.
Kotabaru ten cases, nine in treatment, and one recovered.
Banjar District 116 cases, with details 100 in treatment, nine recovered, and seven died.
Barito Kuala 87 cases, 82 in hospital, four recovered, and one died.
While Tapin has 41 cases, 37 in treatment, three recovered, and one died.
South Hulu Sungai (HSS) eight cases, three in hospital, four recovered, and one died.
Central Hulu Sungai (HST) three cases, one in treatment, and two recovered.
Tabalong with eight cases, two in hospital, six recovered.
Balangan has three cases, one in treatment, and two recovered.
Banjarbaru has 64 cases, 42 in hospital, 21 recovered, and one died.
North Hulu Sungai (HSU) with seven cases, six in hospital, and one died.
Meanwhile, the number of People Under Monitoring (ODP) was 877 and Patient Under Surveillance (PDP) 224.
