Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Teten Masduki encourages micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs or UMKM) to joint trading house, to help them to develop and to have a broader market.
"Such business of chips, gemstones, and others, should be able to be superior commodities with a touch of adequate technology. The government is now preparing everything," he remarked as he opened MSMEs Expo held by South Kalimantan Provincial Government with the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) in Siring Menara Pandang attraction, Banjarmasin, Wednesday (Jan 29, 2020).
The trading house is an intermediary between producers and consumers. It does not produce goods but helping to promote and sell products belonging to third parties (UMKM) to buyers.

The minister hoped, through trading house SMEs keeping to be creative by improving quality to compete and penetrate the global markets.
"We will continue to encourage the growth of UMKM, among others, through financial assistance, promotions, building a trading house, and cooperation with associations," he stated.
The ministry will make two approaches to help UMKM penetrate global markets. First by encouraging partnership between UMKM and big businessmen, and second by regulating UMKM product aggregation by providing special export rooms.

Meanwhile, the MSMEs Expo is scheduled to take place for five days from January 29 to February 2, 2020.
After the opening, the minister accompanied by Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor reviewed the expo.
The governor hoped the various program delivered by the minister will encourage businesses in South Kalimantan to be more motivated to improve the quality of their products.
