Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo said he was impressed and admired the new terminal of Syamsudin Noor Banjarmasin International Airport which he considered as beautiful and large.
"I was suprised, the airport is beautiful and very large," the president said before inaugurating the airport, which is designed to resemble the shape of diamond as a characteristic of the Province of South Kalimantan, Wednesday (Dec 18, 2019).
According to president, in addition to its beautiful design and large, the extent of the airport is much bigger than before, from previously 9,000 square meter to 77,000 square meter or eight times larger than before.
While the capacity has increased more than five times from previously 1.3 million passengers per year. "Passengers capacity is much bigger to 7 million per year. It seems that the jump is very high, but be careful of the growth of airlines and large passeengers, so that an even bigger airport must be built," he said.

At the end of his remarks, the presiden conveyed a pantun (traditional poetry) which contents prayed for the new airport terminal to increase the welfare of the people of the province.
"South Kalimantan's new airport, hopefully its people will prosper, windfall will flow," he said.
