Kotabaru, (Antaranews, South Kalimantan) - State-owned company (BUMN), PT PLN Kotabaru Branch, South Kalimantan, distributed 125 packages of free sembako (nine basic foods) to the underprivileged here.
Branch Head of PLN Kotabaru, Basuki Rahman, here on Monday, said the distribution of basic necessities was one of concern of the company to ease the burden on low-income communities.
According to him, one of the effects of fuel price hike recently, resulted in an increase of daily necessities. The condition can be burdensome for low-income people, especially in day-to-day ends meet.
"With these food packages, citizens from underprivileged families can be helped," he hoped.
Avoiding the wrong target and scrambling, as happened in a number of regions in Indonesia, PT PLN formed a team to establish the candidate of receiving food packages. Food packages distributed by PT PLN containing 10 liters of rice, a kilo of sugar, one liter of cooking oil, tea and instant noodles.
Previously, PT Pelindo III Kotabaru also distributed 1,500 food packages, which are given to the people in the district of Kotabaru and Tanah Bumbu.*
