Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation (YABN) together with the Sungai Kihung Lestari Multipurpose Cooperative, which it built, is trying to produce liquid smoke from the burning of rice husks.
The use of liquid smoke as a rubber freezer is believed to produce higher quality latex, so the selling price is more expensive.
"We want to use waste from farmers to make rubber freezing liquid smoke," explained Chandra Fajar Putra, YABN economic staff.
From the trials the results were not too different from the liquid smoke from Halaban wood. Chandra added that from burning 14 kilograms of husk waste obtained by 6 liters of liquid smoke.

Latex with liquid smoke thickener has a higher elasticity, does not smell bad and does not bind water, thus creating quality rubber-processed materials with dry rubber content (KKK) of 80 percent.
Meanwhile, members of the cooperative continue to socialize the use of liquid smoke in their area so that the rubber processed materials produced by farmers can increase and have an impact on improving community welfare.
