Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent Central Hulu Sungai (HST) H A Chairansyah accompanied by TP PKK Chairwoman Hj Ernawati saw off Sanggar Bima Cili from Tatah Barikin Village, Haruyan Sub-district, to represent South Kalimantan in the 2019 Traditional Dance Contest for Teenagers in Jakarta, Sunday (30/6).
The dance space (sanggar) has won the contest in the provincial level and to perform the Malamang Aruh dance at the Gedung Kesenian Jakarta on July 4, 2019.
Chairansyah commended the local teenage artists those who will perform at the national contest which was initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
"Hopefully by joining the activity, art activists, especially dance, in HST are better known to the wider community," he hoped.
He believes that the people of Bumi Murakata (nickname of HST) are very concerned about art, because according to him, there are many potential sons and daughters in the arts.
"Proven by Bima Cili Space of Tatah Barikin, they represent South Kalimantan at the National level event," he said.
Malamang Aruh dance artisan, Ansari revealed, he and his team consisted of 6 dancers and 7 musicians plus 1 studio leader will perform in Jakarta in a contest that is followed by 33 provinces in Indonesia. They will appear to raise the art of culture and customs of each.
Malamang Aruh dance was appointed as a symbol of the traditional Dayak Meratus which is still preserved today, because the values ??of mutual cooperation and togetherness are always maintained.
