To fight stunting and produce healthy generation, hundreds of stunting handling cadres and technical facilitators from Tabalong District, South Kalimantan, and Barito Timur District, Central Kalimantan, were equipped with capacity building training.
PT Adaro Indonesia and Adaro Foundation (YABN) held the training in collaboration with partners PT Saptaindra Sejati (SIS), PT Bukit Makmur Mandiri Utama (BUMA), and PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) in their social and environment responsibility (TJSL) program.
PT Adaro Indonesia CSR Supervisor M Zulfadeli Rachman here on Wednesday said stunting cadres have a crucial role as spearhead in assisting the community, educating, and intervening in reducing stunting rate.
"We hope that through this training cadres will gain additional insight and skills that can be directly applied in the field, so as to create a healthy and stunting-free generation," he said.

The two days training on March 4-5, 2025, as a form of synergy in accelerating stunting rate reduction in the areas. 100 cadres and 13 facilitators from Tabalong and 9 cadres and 1 facilitator from Barito Timur attended the training.
Zulfadeli hoped their collaboration will be able to alleviate stunting as much as possible, considering its wide impact on the future generation, economic growth, and the welfare of people as a whole.
Chairs of Adaro Foundation (YABN) Zuraida Murdia Hamdie pointed out Adaro's social and environment concerns are always committed to bring positive changes to community, especially in the aspect of children's health.
"In every initiative to support development, Adaro's CSR always wants to ignite energy that bring change by focusing on intervention for children who are not lucky in fulfiling nutrition and growth," said Zuraida.
Thus, Adaro can be part of change for the sons and daughters of Kalimantan to become healthier, stronger, and brighter supporting the ideals of mining community to be smart, healthy, and independent.
Meanwhile, Head of Government and Human Development of the Tabalong Regional Development Planning Agency (Bapperinda) Dr Ida Hastutiningsih said the district's 2025-2029 Regional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) targets a reduction of stunting rate of up to 14.2 percent.
"Improving the quality of human resources in one of the President Prabowo's Asta Cita, and handling stunting is a strategic step in realizing a healthy and superior generation," she said.
She encouraged cadres and facilitators to use this training as a forum to share experiences and enrich their insights on handling stunting in the community.
In the training session, dr Dani Ferdian, a family medicine specialist and a public health practitioner, shared insights on child growth and balanced nutrition.
Similar training program will also be held in several other regions, including Balangan, Barito Kuala (Batola), Barito Selatan (Barsel), and Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU).
