Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - PT Adaro Indonesia is preparing 500 free houses in Tabalong District and Balangan District, South Kalimantan, in stages to support the government's three million houses for low-income communities (MBR) program.
The company realized its commitment as President Director Priyadi conducted a grounbreaking ceremony in Maburai Village, Murung Pudak Sub-district, Thursday (March 20, 2025).
Together with Priyadi were ESDM Ministry's Director of Business Development Surya Herjuno, Director General of Housing and Rural Affairs Imran, and Tabalong Regent H Muhammad Noor Rifani at the groundbreaking.
"This Adaro's free houses is to support the government's three million houses for low-income communities program and the company's social responsibility for communities around its operation," said Priyadi, who concurrently Director of PT Adaro Andalan Indonesia Tbk, here Friday.

For him, the availability of decent housing is a basic need and foundation for a better life for everyone.
The reality that many people still do no have decent housing has moved Adaro and its partners to support the government's effort in “Gotong royong (mutual cooperation) to build houses for people” program through gradual construction of Adaro's 500 free houses.
"We need support from all parties so that Adaro's free houses can be handed over by the end of 2025 to low income communities that meet the requirements and criteria have been set,” added Priyadi.
This year, the target is to realize 100 unit houses for low-income residents in Tabalong District.
Priyadi appreciated the support from the Tabalong District Government, Director General of Housing and Rural Affairs of Ministry of Housing and Settlement (PKP), Director of Business Development of ESDM Ministry and other parties.
Director General of Housing and Rural Affairs Imran said that support from entrepreneurs, the community and the local government is the key to success in realizing a more advanced and prosperous Indonesia through provision of decent and quality housing.
"President Prabowo has given a red carpet to low-income people to won homes," explained Imran.
He said that paying has become free, from slow to fast, BPHTB and PBG free for MBR, free VAT (PPN) from January-June and July-December 5 percent for MBR are real step of President Prabowo's support for the lower income.
Tabalong Regent H Muhammad Noor Rifani said that currently there 581 heads of families are in low-income communities living in the ring 1 and ring 2 of Adaro's operations.
"This free housing assistance is very helpful for the government efforts in overcoming poverty in Tabalong District," Rifani expounded.
